Why Become a Sustaining Member?
Every membership helps us to increase awareness about babywearing, expand our lending library, and to continue operating. Your support enables us to better serve the babywearing community both locally and worldwide. One membership alone can help us reach 500 caregivers!
As a sustaining member, you can also borrow carriers from our lending library at meetings. Rentals are for one month, but you are free to return early in exchange for another carrier. This is an excellent way to try new carriers to find what you love and works best without having to buy all of them. Don't need to take home a carrier? A sustaining membership offers you discounts to various businesses as well. See the our Discounts for Members page for a complete list of discounts! You'll also still be helping us foster a local babywearing community. |

Our Lending Library Rules
Carriers are rented for a one month period and can only be checked out during meetups. Carriers are lent out on a first come, first served basis. You must be at the meeting in-person during the checkout time in order to take a carrier home. Rentals go from monthly meeting to monthly meeting. If you borrow from the Grand Rapids weekday meetup, your carrier is due back at the next Grand Rapids weekday meetup. If you rent from the Grand Rapids Saturday meetup, it's due back the next Saturday meetup.
Carriers must arrive by 30 minutes after meeting start so it is available for all to try. If the carrier is not returned to the check-in table by that time, it will be considered late. Carriers must be turned in to the check-in table only so that it can be marked as returned and inspected. If you can't attend a meeting to return a carrier on time, please contact our librarian BEFORE the meetup and work with the librarian to mail the carrier back (MUST arrive before due date) or drop off to one of our educators.
Please take care of the carrier and return it in a clean and usable condition. In order to improve the life span of our carriers, we ask that they are not washed unless necessary. Please contact our librarian AND read the washing instructions if the carrier needs to be cleaned. The librarian will inspect and wash carriers in order to preserve them as long as possible. If you or your child(ren) were sick while you had the carrier, please return it in a plastic bag so that the librarian knows it needs to be washed to avoid spreading illness.
