**Please note there is a new location for our July 2019 meetings**
About Our MeetingsOur monthly meetings are always free and open to the public. Come with any questions, concerns, or carriers you already have to get help from an accredited educator! Already a pro? Our group is not just for new caregivers, but also experienced wearers! We are an inclusive community and foster friendships between like-minded caregivers. Whatever your parenting style, we are happy to support you.
All caregivers are welcome, as well as all children. We do suggest you bring a few toys that will keep your little ones (and especially the big ones) entertained. Snacks are allowed for your own children but, due to allergies, we ask that you bring no nuts and monitor your children while they eat. At our monthly meetings, we have a large variety of carriers for you to try and see what works best for you and your family. The lending library is available and free for everyone to try on during regular monthly meetings. With a sustaining membership, you can take home a carrier from our lending library. Rentals are for one month, but you are free to return carriers early and exchange for another carrier. This is an excellent way to try new carriers to find what you love and works best without having to buy all of them. An important part of making babywearing a universally accepted practice is ensuring that BabywearingGR meetings, events, and online spaces are welcoming for people of all backgrounds. Given our education mission, we are necessarily supportive of the basic tenets of social justice. Therefore, we do not condone silencing, tone policing, or otherwise oppressing marginalized groups, nor do we discriminate or permit discrimination by any member of its community against any individual on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, size, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, parental status, marital status, age, disability, national origin, or citizenship status. |

- If at all possible, return the carrier to the closest Educator before the meeting (contact the librarian if you are unsure who the closest educator to you is).
- Babywearing Grand Rapids must be notified (via email or PM on Facebook) BEFORE the meeting if you will not be able to make it and were unable to return your carrier early. If we are not notified, you will still be responsible for the late fee ($5 for the first day and $1 for each additional day after that) until the carrier is returned.
- Once we are notified, you will have 5 days to drop the carrier off to the closest educator (ask if you are unsure who is the closest educator to you). After the 5th day, you will begin accruing the late fee of $2/day until your carrier is returned.
- You will be unable to rent another carrier if you do not attend the meeting.
